Celebrating STAND

A final celebration to a yearlong search for ideas that STAND UP, OUT and FOR the environment.

The Challenge:
KEEN’s STAND campaign visited 50 universities nationwide, seeking to inspire people to Create, Play and Care for the environment. Participants submitted their best ideas online and a prestigious panel selected a handful of winners. Now it was time to award and celebrate the results – sustainably, of course – in a blow-out summer festival.

The Solution:
Henry V threw a sustainable party in the downtown living room of Portland, Oregon – one of America’s greenest cities. Highlights included:

  • A recycling parade from KEEN’s headquarters to Pioneer Courthouse Square
  • Pop-up displays and activities for guests to read, hear and experience the best sustainable ideas
  • Signage printed with soy-based inks on recycled cardboard
  • On-site recycling and composting stations
  • Music and presentations on a stage backed by a pledge mural signed by thousands of students

The Results:
Two thousand celebrants, multiple media mentions and $150,000 in cash awarded to people who exemplify the KEEN brand as they STAND UP, OUT and FOR the environment. Henry V won a Gold Award in Corporate EVENT Magazine's Fifth Annual Corporate EVENT Awards competition.
